VDSL 2

VDSL offers much higher data signalling rates than VDSL1. With a border frequency by nearly 30 MHz VDSL2 reaches at least theoretically a data signalling rate from up to 200 MBit/s.

The range is much higher in contrast to forerunner. In addition, opportunities were implemented here to realise several virtual connections with just one physical connection. After the forerunner didn´t found prospective customers, VDSL2 wins more and more gains in importance.

The T-Com builds up a new VDSL2 network in Germany since the spring 06. This installation is the worldwide biggest and is pursued by many foreign network operators with tension, because these also want to build up such a net T-Com´s network is based on the chip "Vinax" of Infinion. VDSL should allow the combination of Internet data, internet telephony and the virtual transference of television programs. The normal way to use phones should not be lost.

Since 2006 the Deutsche Telekom AG already offers VDSL2 connections in:

Stuttgart

To the end of the year other cities will be ready for VDSL2. E.g. Bonn, Dortmund, Dresden and Mannheim.
